Early 1900's Mansfield Sand Company starts quarrying at Berry Hill.


1930's - The quarry plants hundreds of Scot Pines & other trees species along the cliff top as a screen to the quarry works & to protect the cliff top from erosion. 

​

Late 1980's to early 1990's Mansfield Sand Company close's Berry Hill Quarry.


1999 - Planning permission is granted to build a residental estate in the former quarry.

​

2001 - The houses started to be built.

​

2009 - Mansfield District Council acquire ownership of the land along the top of the cliff top & parts of the cliff.

Land survey planned after seven tonnes of rock falls close to Quarry homes

29 October 2012

LANDSLIDE experts will carry out a study of a quarry face in Mansfield after seven tonnes of rock fell just yards from a row of homes.

Bid To Save Quarry Trees From Chop

A Kings Walk Residents group are campaigning to save thousands of trees being felled at a Mansfield beauty spot as part of work to stabilise a quarry face.
